• Uninstalling Squeeze

    To uninstall Squeeze follow these steps:

    Quick Method
    - This will leave some small data files on your computer
    PC
    Before uninstalling Squeeze make sure you have your serial number handy. You can find this by going to Help > About Sorenson Squeeze
    1. Deactivate Squeeze by going to the Help menu, and clicking 'Deactivate Squeeze.'
    2. Next, click Start on the Windows task bar, select the Control Panel
    3. Select Add or Remove Programs (WinXP) or Programs and Features (WinVista and Win7).
    4. Find and select Sorenson Squeeze from the list of currently installed programs
    5. Double-click the Change/Remove button.
    6. Select the Uninstall option and follow the on-screen prompts.

    Mac
    Before uninstalling Squeeze make sure you have your serial number handy. You can find this by going to Help > About Sorenson Squeeze
    1. Deactivate Squeeze by going to the Help menu, and clicking 'Deactivate Squeeze.'
    2. Next, open the Finder window and go to your Applications folder.
    3. Locate the Squeeze folder.
    4. Move the Squeeze folder to the Trash.
    5. Empty Trash.
    To reinstall Squeeze see Installing Squeeze


    Thorough Method
    - This will completely remove Squeeze from your machine
    Win XP
    Before uninstalling Squeeze make sure you have your serial number handy. You can find this by going to Help > About Sorenson Squeeze
    1. Deactivate Squeeze by going to the Help menu, and clicking 'Deactivate Squeeze.'
    2. Uninstall Squeeze by going to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove programs > Sorenson Squeeze (all versions) > Change/Remove > Uninstall.
    3. Uninstall FFDShow by going to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove programs > ffdshow (all versions) > Change/Remove > Uninstall
    Note: FFDShow is no longer installed automatically as of Squeeze 8.5. Please continue to the next step.
    4. Delete the Squeeze folder located here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\[your name]\Application Data\SorensonMedia
    If you can't see this folder you may need change your folder options by going to Tools > View > and check the box next to Show Hidden Files and Folders.
    Note: This is your custom settings folder so if you have any custom presets you may want to export them from Squeeze and save them elsewhere or make a copy of this folder and place it in a different location.

    To reinstall Squeeze see Installing Squeeze

    WinVista/Win7
    Before uninstalling Squeeze make sure you have your serial number handy. You can find this by going to Help > About Sorenson Squeeze
    1. Deactivate Squeeze by going to the Help menu, and clicking 'Deactivate Squeeze.'
    2. Uninstall Squeeze by going to Start >Control Panel > Programs and Features > Sorenson Squeeze (all versions) >Change/Remove > Uninstall. Reboot your PC if possible.
    3. Uninstall FFDShow by going to Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features > ffdshow (all versions) > Change/Remove > Uninstall
    Note: FFDShow is no longer installed automatically as of Squeeze 8.5. Please continue to the next step.
    4. Delete the Squeeze folder located here:
    C:\Users\[your name]\AppData\Roaming\SorensonMedia\
    If you can't see this folder you may need change your folder options by going to Tools > View > and check the box next to Show Hidden Files and Folders.
    Note: This is your custom settings folder so if you have any custom presets you may want to export them from Squeeze and save them elsewhere or make a copy of this folder and place it in a different location.

    To reinstall Squeeze see Installing Squeeze

    Mac OSX
    Before uninstalling Squeeze make sure you have your serial number handy. You can find this by going to Help > About Sorenson Squeeze
    1. Deactivate Squeeze by going to the Help menu, and clicking 'Deactivate Squeeze.'
    2. Open your Applications folder and drag the Squeeze folder to the trash.
    3. Open Finder > go to Macintosh HD (system volume) /Library/Preferences/
    and delete the .plist file "com.SorensonMedia.Squeeze 4.plist" or "com.SorensonMedia.Squeeze 6.plist" (If there are more than one .plist files with Sorenson Media or Squeeze in the name, delete them all.)
    Note to OSX Lion users: To view the Macintosh HD folder you will need to go to the Finder Preferences and under Devices check the Hard Disks box.
    4. Open Finder > go to Macintosh HD/Users/(your name) /Library/Preferences/ and delete the .plist file "com.SorensonMedia.Squeeze 4.plist" or "com.SorensonMedia.Squeeze 6.plist"
    (If there are more than one .plist files with Sorenson Media or Squeeze in the name, delete them all.) Also, delete the "SorensonMedia" folder
    Note: This is your custom settings folder so if you have any custom presets you may want to export them from Squeeze and save them elsewhere or make a copy of this folder and place it in a different location.

    Note to OS 10.7 Lion and 10.8 Mountain Lion users: The Library folder in your user directory is hidden by default. You will need to perform the following steps make it visible:
    1. Open Terminal in your Utilities folder in Applications.
    2. Type the following (without quotes) into Terminal or cut and paste: “chflags nohidden ~/Library/“
    3. Now your Library folder will be visible and you can perform step #4 above.
