• FFDShow Plug-in for PCs

FFDSHOW is a DirectShow and Video for Windows codec with support for a wide range of audio and video formats, such as Xvid, DivX, and H.264. It uses libavcodec from ffmpeg project for video decompression, post-processing code from mplayer to enhance visual quality of low bit rate movies, and is based on original DirectShow filter from XviD, which is GPL's educational implementation of the MPEG4 encoder.

FFDShow can help you open additional types of video and audio files, for which you may otherwise not have needed the codec installed on your machine in order to open the file in Squeeze.
