Importing DNxHD (MXF) files in windows

I am running Squeeze Pro and I have an MXF file but unfortunately Squeeze cant decode the video so any transcodes result in audio only. I have checked the validity of the file which is fine, i can also play the file with VLC.
I have tried this on 2 seperate machines with the same problem.
I have installed the latest AVID codecs from here http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Download/en423319
and also followed the instructions here http://forum.sorensonmedia.com/forum/showthread.php?3030-MXF-file-support

but it still doesnt work. Can anyone help?

As I mentioned in the email to you about this issue, you might try making a new default reader to see if having Squeeze decode your videos differently will avoid the error. You can make a new default reader by following these steps: https://support.sorensonmedia.com/customer/portal/articles/1400734-adding-a-new-default-reader

You reference Avid. Are you attempting to move a file from Media Composer to Squeeze? If so, the usual method is file>send to>sorenson using a QT Reference. QT Ref is a set of pointers to the original video file plus the audio file(s). It proceeds quickly. Creating a quicktime file (not reference) takes much longer.

    Hope this helps,

    Thanks, Mark.

James was able to solve his issue by making a new default reader and using Direct Show.
